THIS week, Portrush man RODNEY MAGEE, a life long member of Ballywillan Drama Group and Chairman of Causeway Hospital Radio, lets us look in his Treasure Chest.
1. Guinness
An abundant supply of Guinness as it's one of life's essentials. If it was possible I would take The Harbour in Portrush because I would miss it. It's the best Guinness anywhere.

2 Ipod
I would take my iPod with an unlimited supply of music which is something I'm passionate about. I love all kinds of music and I'm always listening to something in any spare time I have. Being involved in hospital radio gives me the opportunity to go through my music collection and make up my programmes with music that I maybe haven't listened to for a long time.
My favourite musical period was definitely the Sixties (that's giving my age away!) I think much of the music today has been influenced by the Sixties.

3 Golf clubs
Golf is another passion and I have being playing golf all my life. I admit that like most weekend golfers you have a good day every other year! I am a life long member of Rathmore Golf Club in Portrush and was honoured to be Captain in 1993.

4 Tiger Woods golf book
I would take Tiger Woods' golf book to ensure I get it right ...well at least try! At least on a desert island, no one would see me practising.

5 Cookery book
I would need a cookery book for my survival. I am not a modern man when it comes to cooking....ENOUGH SAID!

6 Girl Friday
I probably will not understand the book, as I've already hinted cooking is not one of my strong points so I would need a Girl Friday to keep me right.

7 Photo of my wife
I would definitely need a photograph of my wife so that Girl Friday knows I'm married!

8 Pen and notepad
I would take these in case I get inspiration to write a script for a pantomime or a musical. I have been a member of Ballywillan Drama Group for 45 years and over that period I have been involved in all aspects of our productions having produced and directed, as well as taken part. I was also chairman for 12 years.
Knowing what's involved in staging these productions, I would also take this opportunity to wish Portrush Music Society good luck for their production of Oklahoma.
At present Ballywillan are having great success with our musicals and are in the process of planning Fiddler On The Roof for January 2009 in the Riverside Theatre Coleraine, but I have a hankering to stage another pantomime as it was in panto that all the longer serving members of our group gained our experience....we live in hope!!

9 Camera
A camera to capture the scenery and make everyone jealous.

10 A mobile phone
One which cannot receive calls so that I can keep in touch with all the fabulous team running Hospital Radio. I have been involved since it's conception and I'm proud to be the present Chairman.
If any reader would be interested in joining Hospital Radio contact the studio on (028) 7034 6005 leave your details and we will be in touch.
Through hospital radio you not only get a chance to meet people but it is interesting to learn about their tastes in music and it is very rewarding when patients acknowledge that they have heard their requests.
