SECOND Dunboe Presbyterian Church was filled to near capacity last Sunday evening to honour former church organist Mrs Ruby Cameron.
A glowing tribute was paid to the late Mrs Cameron by Glenn Kerr, a senior member of the church choir.

Mrs Cameron, or Ruby as she was affectionately called, had given 45 years of dedicated service as organist to Second Dunboe.

Not only had she given this length of service as organist but for 50 years had acted as a collector and secretary for the Presbyterian Orphan Society.

Mrs Cameron was not only well-known as church organist but was also a very respected music teacher, teaching piano not only in her own home but travelling to the homes of pupils in the surrounding district.

It was very fitting that the service was dedicated to the singing of Psalm - something Mrs Cameron held dear to her heart.

Dedicating a home communion set and an inscribed wall plaque, Rev Colin Martin, minister of the congregation, paid tribute to the excellent and worthwhile service given by the late Mrs Cameron, making reference in his epilogue to the wonderful truth that was to be found in the Psalm.
