IF you realise the value of recycling and re-using things that you no longer need then you might want to think about giving some time to volunteering.
That's the message from the Volunteer Development Agency and charity shops across Northern Ireland who are getting ready for Volunteers' Week which aims to recognise, reward and recruit volunteers.

Elaine Hart, from Age Concern Help the Aged in Coleraine, said: "During Volunteers' Week we will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in your local community so if you pop into our shop for a browse or a bargain, or to drop off some much needed donations.

"You can also find out how you can get involved in some of the activities that make a real difference to the lives of others."
