Resuscitation talk for Probus members

MEMBERS of Coleraine Probus Club met in the upper room at Portstewart Golf Club.

The President, Ross Torrens, introduced Bernie McKenna, Community Resuscitation Development Officer (CRDO) with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust.

Bernie proceeded to give a most informative talk which highlighted the importance of dealing with heart Aatacks through the Heartstart Awareness programme.

She invited members to give what they thought were risk factors associated with impending heart attacks eg overweight, heriditary factors, smoking and excess alcohol. Bernie then demonstrated the methods used to help persons who had suffered such attacks. This was complemented with an excellent VD showing actors recreating real life situations.

Her talk was greatly appreciated by members and those wives and guests who attended.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Leo Dolan who congratulated the speaker on her most thorough presentation.

This was duly passed on by the President. Members left well informed with what to do if certain situations in life occur.
