THE Anchor Bar in Portstewart is preparing for a busy summer.
The County Pub of the Year has become one of the most popular venues in Northern Ireland.
Head Chef, Cathal Cunning is a local man committed to providing quality, locally sourced food. He aims to put Portstewart on the map as a good food destination. Cathal recently achieved extremely high praise from a "Taste of Ulster" mystery shopper.
"We use fresh locally sourced produce in our dishes and work extremely hard to ensure high standards are maintained at all times" said Cathal.
"There's a great team spirit in The Anchor and the staff get on very well together. It's great to get positive comments on my food and the staff here are renowned for their customer service, so all in all I'm delighted to be a part of it."
Food service is 12pm to 9pm daily and bookings are advisable for Skippers Restaurant at weekends.
The entertainment line up in the Anchor hasn't changed much over the years. It's still as good as ever with karaoke on Tuesday, a Quiz on Wednesday, and live bands every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.
Club Aura is open five nights a week it plays host to students on a Tuesday with DJ Brian McKay, the locals weekend starts early with DJ Alan Logan every Thursday, followed by new DJ Bobby Digital every Friday night.
Saturday is over 25's with DJ Ian Colhoun (of Q102 fame) and the pocket rocket Brian McKay returns from 9pm every Sunday to end the week in style with his mix of great music and fantastic theme nights.
Doors close early so don't be disappointed and visit Club Aura for a night to remember.
