MARK Adamson returns to the Riverside Theatre this month in one of the most popular musicals of the 70's, Godspell.
The last time the musical was on stage in Coleraine, James Nesbitt played the leading role, so who knows what it could do for Mark.
Mark has already played the lead role in the show, which was the first ever muscial to be staged in the Grand Opera H
ouse's Baby Grand auditorium.
Godspell is one of the most popular, big-stage musicals of the 1970s. The structure of the musical revolves around a series of biblical parables, taken primarily from the Gospel of St. Matthew.
These are then interspersed with a variety of modern, rock-flavoured music, set primarily to lyrics from traditional hymns, with the passion of Christ treated briefly near the end of performance.
One of its songs, 'Day By Day', was a huge top ten hit in 1972. It's fast, frollicky, very funny in parts and has some wonderfully tuneful songs delivered by an ensemble cast. This production features popular, local actor Mark Adamson in the leading role. Suitable for all the family.
The Coleraine Times have teamed up with the Riverside Theatre to offer two readers, a pair of tickets to the show on Wednesday, July 30.
