Good offers on drink and speciality beer and cider offers, food very cheap not gourmet but good value .

Though many say this is good value, for the quality and portions of the food I think it is overpriced. Have never really enjoyed anything I have eatten here.

This is a buzzing place for young people, students and I suppose the not so young. Cheap food and cheap drink served all day. They have quite a few offers on food with a free drink so I suppose this attracts the poor students of the town!
The food can be a bit hit or miss but their curry nights are brilliant and I haven’t had a bad curry yet! The building itself is splendid having kept many of its ancient features so the surroundings are pleasant as are the staff.

i agree with the other review, but i find that the food in this particular witherspoons has been hit or miss on the occasions that I have eaten there.

Better known as wetherspoons these days. Great atmosphere here and the food isnt too bad either. Children are allowed in until 8/9pm and while waiting on meals they are given a colouring page and crayons to entertain them. The staff are friendly and helpful.
I only ever had one problem with this place. On one occasion my chicken was still pink in the middle, when I complained the manager refunded me the price of both mine and my husbands meals and our drinks as an apology. So their customer service and way they handle complaints didnt put me off tbh, plus the food has since proved delicious.
