LOCAL fashionistas are in for a treat at The Lodge Hotel Coleraine next month.
Organised by Cindy McKendry, the manager Miss Selfridge and Leeann Moffatt, the manager of Tempest) a charity fashion on Friday, October 12 show promises to be a night of fashion, dance and fun.
Compered by the ever popular Alan Simpson the audience can look forward to fashion, laughter and most importantly, supporting two amazing charities - the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice and Action Cancer N.I.
As Leeann explains: “This will be our third big fashion show, and we are indebted to the people who come in year after year with offers of help and give their time. It’s hard work but so worth it when we are able to present two very worthy charities with cheques at the end.”
Cindy adds: “We are always so grateful of the local support as Coleraine people are just fantastic at supporting charity. Everyone has been working so hard, the models and dancers have been practising, the backstage crew are just brilliant and will make sure everything runs smoothly. Alan will do what Alan does and entertain, tease and make sure that everyone has a good time.”
There is a fantastic line up of people who are contributing to the evening. The glittering catwalk will be built by Fred and Mark Crawford and it will be covered with Starlights by Swift Chair Covers. Ma Fleur Portstewart will be providing the floral arrangements.
Kicking off the evening will be the popular Dominic Graham dancers, followed by Bertie Peacocks under 7s who will be modelling for Dunnes.
Then an Autumn/Winter showcase of fashion by all the high street stores will be held, modelled by local lovelies and will feature Miss Selfridge, Exhibit, Quiz, Jane Norman, Mango, Warehouse, Vera Moda as well as New Look.
Local rowers will be showing all the male teen fashion by Gino/N.V..(with a special guest appearance by local body-builder Andy McBride). There is even a fun routine by local rugby players.
Gerald McQuilken has been working hard on all the choreography for the models as well as his own dance troupe The Big Spenders. A formal dress fashion section by Star Tiara and Tweedy Acheson formal suit hire will show off new collections.
There will be a very special showcase of new Northern Ireland designer, Shauna Fay who will be putting her autumn collection on the catwalk for the ladies of the North West to see. This girl has got the “It” factor!
Cindy says: “Shauna agreed to come up to Coleraine and put her new collection on the runway for us, this is a big deal for Coleraine as usually we have to go to Belfast for all the new designer collections.”
The girls have also gathered up an exciting array of raffle prizes, among them a makeover to the value of £500 to some lucky lady by Catherine McKenzie Photography and Stephanie Loughrey MUA Hair and make up will also be covered on the night. Make up artists Rosie Prichard and Stephanie Loughrey will be giving the models all the new Winter looks. Wow Hair and Beauty and Moods Hairdressing will be getting the models hair catwalk ready. Sinead Martin is also bringing her Stella and Dot collection for any jewellery lovers to peruse before the show.
The DJ for the evening is the award winning Aidan Young who will also be playing at the after-party. There will be an auction of a very kind gift from Darren Clarke and family. Darren gave the girls an 18 hole signed flag from his winning championship to be auctioned on the night along with a cashmere pink sweater also signed. The flag was kindly framed for the event by Frame It of Society Street.
There’s also two personally signed CDS for music fans - both are highly coveted by the ladies - JLS and Take That. An ideal Christmas present.
