Whiskey bottles won’t be the only things housed in a centuries-old distillery this summer after plans were announced to transform the historic building into a concert venue.

The owners of Bushmills will be moving in stages and speakers to host another music festival amid the barrels and stills at its home on Northern Ireland’s scenic Causeway Coast.

Home-grown rockers Snow Patrol headlined the inaugural Bushmills Live event last year, but this time the main act comes from another island in the Atlantic - Iceland.

Indie folk band Of Monsters and Men have been signed up to star at the June festival in a Co Antrim village whose whiskey blending tradition dates back as far as 1608.

Only 500 tickets for the music celebration on June 19th and 20th are being made available. They will not go on general sale - with fans instead given the chance of winning a pass through a prize draw.

The ticket draw, which is only open to over-18s, can be entered on the Bushmills Irish Whiskey Facebook page, facebook.com/bushmills1608, from Sunday March 17th - St Patrick’s Day - at 16:08 GMT.
