THE Riverside Theatre has dusted down its catwalk in preparation for Thursday’s Fashion Show Extravaganza at 8pm.
The evening is hosted by BBC Television journalist and anchorwoman Sarah Travers – who is also Patron of Riverside’s highly successful Youth Theatre.
Last year’s event not only sold out but produced a long queue of customers at the theatre’s box office on the night – so fashionistas are strongly urged to purchase their tickets in advance!
A donation from ticket sales will be made at the end of the event to a very worthy local institution, the Community Rescue Service – an organization which undertakes vital work in rescues at sea and lifesaving. Members of the CRS will be present at the show and on hand to tell visitors all about the vital work they do, as volunteers.
Sarah Travers will be compering a show which is split into two halves: in the first, the audience will have a chance to see some of the latest new looks for children, teenagers and young adults. In the second half of the evening there will be a stunning array of Bridal Fashion and Formal Wear on view, supplied by Star Tiara Bridal and Tweedy Acheson. Outfits from Some1special will also be modelled for the audience.
There will be musical entertainment supplied by brilliant Elvis impersonator Andy Rodgers and singer and recording artiste Edwin Brown. Readers will remember that Edwin is the Musical Director of Riverside’s Youth Theatre and Riverside is delighted to welcome them both to the stage.
But that’s not all. As well as the Fashion Show itself, there will be a series of displays in the theatre foyer of make-up design and hair-care – all provided by expert local practitioners.
The evening has been masterminded once again by Claire Bleakley, of the University of Ulster, who has worked tirelessly and generously in this and last year’s event, which was in aid of the Youth Theatre and which raised a considerable sum. Riverside is extremely grateful to Claire.
Tickets are available 24/7, online, via www.riversidetheatre.org.uk or from box office on 02870 123 123.
