‘A momentous occasion’

THERE was a buzz of excitement in the Elim Church in Coleraine as two congregations met together for worship.

This was not a one off event but a new beginning as the two congregations have joined together to form one. The churches involved are the Elim Church and Still Waters Christian Fellowship whose previous premises had been at 10 The Diamond, Coleraine.

Pastor Colin Wylie, former pastor of Still Waters will take charge of this new congregation, under the banner of Still Waters Elim.

Both former congregations were well represented on Sunday morning, on February 3 and many visitors joined them in worship for this important

occasion. Pastor Colin welcomed all present, including Pastor Edwin Michael, the superintendent of the Elim Church in Ireland, who was the guest speaker.

Pastor Michael described the union of the two congregations as “a momentous occasion”. He explained that the union was God ordained and encouraged this newly formed church, from the Book of Genesis, to “dig wells” - wells of God’s Word, corporate worship, prayer and intersession.

The new congregation also met for a Praise Service on Sunday evening, led by the worship leader, Roger Patterson.

A warm invitation is extended to anyone who would like to join the congregation at 11am for morning worship each Sunday and at 6.30pm for

worship on alternate Sunday evenings.

A range of activities is planned for during the week, including Mother and Toddlers at 10.30am on Tuesdays and Youth Group at 7.30pm on Friday

evenings. For further information, please contact the church on 70327713.
