AN aspiring young actress has received a break-a-leg Tweet message from her pop idol.

12-year-old Jasmine Gardiner is currently playing the lead role of ‘Brat’ in Ballywillan Drama Group’s production of ‘Whistle Down the Wind’ - the first amateur production in Ireland.

Jasmine is a huge Jessie J fan, and last week the multi selling singer/songwriter sent her a tweet telling the Dominican College pupil to enjoy every minute of her time on stage.

Ironically Jessie played the same role herself as a youngster for Andrew Lloyd Webber on the West End Stage.

Jasmine’s father, Darren, told The Times: “I happened to tweet Jessie J to see if she could give Jasmine a little shout out.

“Jasmine is a huge fan, and I thought given that they both played the same roles she might reply.

“She has over six million followers on twitter, and to be honest we were all totally amazed when the tweet came through, it has now been retweeted quite a few times, “ joked Darren.

Jasmine is currently studying for her grade five in musical theatre, her grade four singing and piano exams and grade five trumpet - her dream is to perform on stage at the West End.
