Wilsons of Rathkenny’s Shane’s Castle event a huge success

LOCAL agriculture and ground care dealer, Wilsons of Rathkenny, recently held a two day free Honda and Isuzu ride and drive event at Shane’s Castle, Antrim.

Over the two days people arrived from all over Northern Ireland to get a hands on feel of the Honda ATV quad range.

A special track was laid out through one of the forest areas of Shane’s Castle and everyone got to drive their selected quad to test how good they are on rough terrain, tarmac, grass, sand and in parts of Lough Neagh itself.

Wilsons of Rathkenny organised two Honda ATV instructors to oversee the ride out. Before setting off James Newman and Chris Walker demonstrated to each rider how their selected quad operated, before leading them down to the track.

The track consisted of large hills, muddy waters and tight turns, all of which were no problem to maneuver around with the ability of the Honda ATV quads.

On return to the starting line people spoke of their disbelief of the quality ride and handling of the Honda quads. One man said he would definitely be purchasing one for his farm, as his older vehicle hadn’t the same capabilities of the Honda.

As well as Honda, Wilsons also had their official launch of the All-New Isuzu D-Max pick up. Many people took time to test drive the new pick up through Shane’s Castle estate to test its durability through different terrains.

Laurence McMullan, sales manager said of the Isuzu D-Max, said: “Whether it’s hauling big loads, powering through the working week, cruising through the weekend or going where the others won’t, this is a pick-up you can depend on.”

Wilsons brought along other agriculture and ground care stock and laid on demonstrations to show people how the different machines worked.

These machines included Weidemann loaders, Gianni Ferrari mowers, Valtra tractors, as well as other other equipment like Trioliet feeders and mixers. One lucky couple also got to borrow one of Wilsons golf buggies to sail around in for an hour and enjoy the views of the estate whilst their son tried out the Honda ATV quads.

A free competition was also put on for people visiting, the winner will receive a new winter coat – check out www.facebook.com/wilsonsrathkenny as the winner will be announced on Wednesday, August 22.
