DREAMS came true for a Portrush school girl last week when she was invited on stage by her idol LADY GAGA.
Rachel Hastings (14) travelled to the Aviva Stadium in Dublin with her friend Richard Nicholl to see the eccentric American singer.
During the finale of the concert, Rachel and five other fans were invited on stage to walk the catwalk with the multi award winning singer-songwriter.
Rachel was still jumping with excitement when we spoke to her last Thursday.
“It was a dream come true.
“I really couldn’t believe it when I was picked out to go on stage.
“I was wearing a huge white afro wig with lights through it, so I guess that’s why I stood out,” joked Rachel.
As the Dalriada pupil danced around the stage with her Lady Gaga singing ‘Marry the Night’, Rachel was pinching herself about getting so close to her idol.
“I had tried so many times before to get tickets, but I had never been successful, so this time around I was delighted to get tickets in the front row.”
Of course, Lady Gaga’s wardrobe makes many a newspaper headline, and Rachel explained that her Dublin show was no different.
“I had seen a few pictures of other shows and the outfits that she wore, but I have to say the Dublin show was better than I could ever have expected.
“She looked amazing from start to finish.”
Rachel is hoping that rumours about the stars return to Europe in June next year are true - “if she comes back to Europe, as has been rumoured I will definately being doing all I can to get tickets again.”
