THE restaurant at the Village Tavern in Articlave is now under new management.

Husband and wife, Norman and Gillian Cunningham have taken over management of the popular restaurant, and are keen to welcome old and new customers.

Gillian has many years experience in the hospitality trade and has been working hard alongside chef, Cordelia McGinley, formerly of Bob’s Bistro, to put together a menu that will cater for everyone’s tastes.

Although Gillian’s family and friends have other commitments they played a large part in helping her get everything ready for the re-opening. She would like to thank them for their continued support.

Whether it’s Sunday lunch, an evening meal or just a light snack, the menu has plenty to offer.

During May, The Village Tavern Restaurant has a special ‘Tea Time’ menu, which is served Thursday to Saturday from 5pm to 7pm.

Diners can choose two courses for just £10.95 or three courses for £12.95.

Starters include soup, garlic mushrooms, egg mayonnaise and cheesy garlic bread. While mains, including a side order, are chilli beef, chilli chicken, peppered chicken and chicken goujons.

A large selection of sweets will complete your meal.

The Village Tavern also serves bar snacks, takeaways and afternoon teas. Opening hours are 11.30 to 9pm Tuesday to Saturday; 12.30 to 7pm Sunday and Monday.

Private functions can also be catered for.

Over the coming weeks diners can join their loyalty card scheme. By doing so you could save £10 off your bill. Join their Facebook page for promotions and voucher offers.

Gillian and Norman look forward to welcoming you to The Village Tavern.

Colin Kennedy of the Villiage Tavern would like to wish Norman and Gillian all the best in their new venture. He looks forward to working with them in the future.
