TREASURE CHEST: Bernie Stewart

THIS week we asked BERNIE STEWART, the manager of the Ulster Cancer Foundation Shop in Coleraine, to pack her Treasure Chest.

Bernie, and her team of volunteers are currently looking for clothing, CD's and DVD's, bric-a-brac, household items, jewellery and furniture for the New Row shop.

If you can help, why not contact Bernie or one of her dedicated team on 7035 6550 or call at the Ulster Cancer Foundation shop, opposite Tesco.

The Ulster Cancer Foundation is Northern Ireland's leading local cancer charity, looking after local people. They are committed to tackling cancer by supporting research, providing services for cancer patients and their families, and by educating people on how they can reduce the risk of the disease.

Here's what Bernie packed inside her Treasure Chest:

1. My family.

My husband and my three kids and seven grandchildren. I'd be lost without them.

2. Volunteers from the shop

There are ten very helpful volunteers from the Ulster Cancer Foundation Shop here in Coleraine, who could really do with a well earned rest

3. Sunblock and hat

I like to sunbathe, so I'm guessing I would have a lot of time to laze around. I'd need the suncream, in case I burn!

4. CD player and loads of batteries

I like music so the CD player would keep us occupied. I'd take all my Jimmy Buckley CD's, he's my favourtie singer.

5. Books

I read a lot so I think I'd take a lot of books with me to help pass the time.

6. First Aid Kit

Just in case anyone got hurt, I like to be prepared.

7. Some alcohol

I'd make some nice cocktails so that we could chill out in the evening and watch the sun go down.

8 Barbecue or cooking stove

I'm sure we could find something to eat.

9. Chocolate

A good supply of Black Magic, it's my favourite

10. Jimmy Buckley

The country legend, that's if he'd come along, and my husband didn't mind!
