16-year-old girl assaulted by man at Strand Road

POLICE in Coleraine are appealing for information after an assault in the Strand Road area of the town on Wednesday, August 15.

Shortly after 2pm a 16-year-old girl was walking along a path beside the river when an unknown male ran towards her and pushed her to the ground.

She pushed him away before running off. The man is described as being in his late 30s, approximately 5’6” tall, of thin build with long black hair and a stubble beard.

He was wearing combat-style trousers and a beige jacket. The girl was not injured but was left badly shaken following the incident.
