POLICE smashed yet another cannabis factory in Coleraine on Thursday(May 15).
Following Wednesday's dismantling of a cannabis factory in Coleraine, police swooped on a house in Liffock Court in Castlerock on Thursday afternoon.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers of the 'H' District Tactical Crime Unit made the discovery during a search of a house at Liffock Park on Thursday afternoon, May 15.

"Approximately 400 young cannabis plants were seized.

"One man aged 49 and another aged 32 were arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis, criminal damage and supply of controlled drugs.

"Anyone who has any information regarding the sale, supply, or misuse of controlled drugs is urged to contact their local police so that the matter can be fully investigated. The telephone number to ring is 0845 600 8000, or contact the 'Crimestoppers' charity anonymously on freephone 0800 555111."

On Wednesday afternoon, local people looked on in amazement as police swooped on a house in Gransden Park, in the Knocklyn area of Coleraine.

Uniformed and plain clothes officers were involved in the oepration which is believed to have netted a very substantial quantity of cannabis plants.

Cars, vans and a large quantity of propogation equipment were recovered for examination.

It is understood that up to four people have been arrested and are being interviewed.
