EAST Londonderry MP, Gregory Campbell has delivered his 10,000th Christmas card during his Christmas tour of residential and nursing Homes across the constituency.
The visits included homes in Coleraine, Limavady, Portrush and Portstewart as well as homes in the Garvagh and Kilrea areas.

The MP told the Times “Each year since I was first elected I undertake to visit the nursing homes and I think it is a worthwhile task to speak with many of the residents, particularly during the Christmas holiday period.

“Over the years the numbers involved have been mounting up, this year marks the 10,000th Chrismas card delivered since beginning back in 1998.”

Mr Campbell added: “There is tremendous work being done by those engaged in the nursing home profession given the significant numbers of people currently residing in the homes.

“The visitation involved almost twenty homes where I spoke to hundreds of residents as well as many of those who work in the homes. Residents said they appreciated the visit.”

Mr Campbell extended thanks to the staff members who were most helpful during his time in each home.
