STAFF at the USPCA in Benvardin have thanked Coleraine Times readers for their generosity following an appeal for food and bedding.
Louise Neill from the kennels said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the article you carried a few weeks ago for the USPCA at Benvardin kennels.

“Since then we have had overwhelming support by way of bedding and food - both of which were much needed in this bad weather and that is solely down to the success of your newspaper.

“The story goes on however, the number of unwanted dogs is still on the rise and the unwanted Christmas present pups are now being abandoned.

“The latest was a Labrador pup, barely ten weeks old, which was tied to a barbed wire fence outside Kilrea, miles from any houses.

“We still need to get the message across that a dog if for life, not just for Christmas.”

If you are interested in providing a good and loving home for one of the dogs at Benvardin, contact benvardinkennels@googlemail.com or 07979 534 023.
