ANY doubts that interest in country dancing in the north-west might be on the wane have been dispelled now that the forthcoming Country Festival in the Bushtown House Hotel has met with an unprecedented response.
Johnny Brady will be the big attraction there on Sunday, October 28 while Robert Mizzell and his band will be on stage on Monday, October 29.
It promises to be a feast of music and dancing and the indications are that followers will travelling from over a wide area to participate.
Kieran McGilligan, one of the directors of the Bushtown, says he is “absolutely delighted” with the response to date.
“We have been getting enquires from places as far apart as Dublin and the west of Ireland and this is certainly very encouraging from our perspective. The festivals which we have held in recent times at the Bushtown have all been very successful but the indications are that this next one could be the best to date,” reveals Ciaran.
“We are absolutely delighted with the reaction from so many different areas of the country.
The ongoing popularity of both Johnny Brady and Robert Mizzell is certainly contributing in no small measure to the interest in the festival when the emphasis will be very much on top-quality entertainment.
Johnny Brady has been making very steady progress since going on the road earlier this year while Robert Mizzell continues to prove to be one of the top attractions on the country dancing circuit.
