A burning car is not too much trouble for award-winner Joggy

A franchisee of a local pizza outlet who helped to put out a fire in a customer’s car has won a major UK award for customer service.

Well known businessman Joggy Dhillon, who runs Domino’s Pizza shops in Coleraine and Omagh, scooped the Franchisee of the Year Award for Customer Service at the bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year awards.

A thrilled Joggy said: “It is fantastic to be recognised for excellence in customer service by the franchise industry and as a professional business.

“Winning this award is great acknowledgement for the amazing team I’m privileged to have working with me. They all work extremely hard to ensure client satisfaction is paramount to all activity, and I’m so proud to be honoured for my work with our local communities.”

Following a rigorous judging process for the award categories, the winners were congratulated at a black-tie ceremony in Birmingham Town Hall.

Recognised for their contributions to franchising in the UK, winners were rewarded with trophies and cash prizes of up to £10,000 courtesy of HSBC.

The judges’ citation praised Joggy for going that extra mile for his customers . It read: “Joggy illustrated how important he feels his customers are to his business by taking them into consideration during his upcoming store refurbishment.

“With customers front of mind, he is making the store more open plan to allow children to walk around the store counters to see how their pizzas are made. Even in the most unusual circumstances, Joggy’s dedication to excellent customer service shines through.

“When a car seat in a customer’s car caught fire outside his shop, Joggy and his team extinguished the fire, while other members of staff taught the children how to make pizzas, ensuring they had something tasty to take away from a nasty experience.

“Joggy also has fantastic community spirit, regularly getting the business involved in sponsoring local charity events such as Tidy Northern Ireland’s One Big Shine Up, Comic Relief and making sure Domino’s was the main sponsor of an Anti-Litter Summit. On top of this, he’s an astute businessman.

“He is consistently in the top five stores for the entire Domino’s Pizza Group for order count and sales growth. He has also doubled his stores’ sales in three years.”
