Fitzpatrick welcomes rural development grant scheme

COLERAINE Alliance councillor, Barney Fitzpatrick, has welcomed DARD’s announcement inviting applications from rural businesses seeking funding towards capital investment programmes.

Cllr Fitzpatrick told the Times: “If there is investment potential that we can bring to Coleraine then we, as elected representatives, have a duty to bring such information to the public’s attention. ]

“I would encourage anyone in the Coleraine Rural Council area involved in the agri-food sector engaged in food processing activities or in the processing of a forest product outputting a renewable energy fueland the like to find out more about the scheme.

“Support is available up to £500,000 towards eligible capital costs that might include building new facilities, refurbishing old buildings and purchasing new equipment. Application forms and information can be obtained by telephoning the Manager, Rural Development programme, North East Region on 028 2566 4400.”
