‘Think Manufacturing’
COLERAINE Borough Council has announced the launch another of its ‘Think Big’ programmes, this time entitled ‘Think Manufacturing’.
The programme is an excellent opportunity for ten manufacturing companies in the borough to sustain, develop and grow their business by receiving specialised mentoring support.
The support will focus on their manufacturing operations and process procedures with the ultimate aim of sustaining their current workforce, and with the potential of developing new jobs and aiming to increase productivity.
Companies signing up to the programme will receive free, 30 hours of business support across a six to eight month period, which will help them formulate and deliver a development action plan. This is to encourage greater efficiency and opportunity in their operations.
The Northern Ireland Technology Centre has a long history of working with manufacturing companies across Northern Ireland assisting them in developing capability and improving performance.
The Think BIG Think Manufacturing Programme is one of a suite of seven business support programmes, all designed by Coleraine Borough Council to support local companies in difficult economic conditions.
Martin Clark, Council Economic Development Officer, explained: “Council is committed to assisting businesses in the borough, helping them address their constraints to growth and to move forward with confidence.
“This programme provides an opportunity for manufacturing businesses to access specialist support in whichever areas of need that they themselves identify. This tailor-made support could be key to survival in what is expected to be a continued period of difficult trading conditions.
“The Think Manufacturing Programme will help businesses to analyse their strengths, address weaknesses and recognise opportunities. Council wants to see local businesses being successful, creating wealth and adding value to the local economy.”
