THE mayor, councillor David Harding yesterday launched a new brand for Coleraine: “‘C(See) Our Town’ and Make It Yours!”
It’s hoped that the contemporary brand will provide Coleraine with a colourful and contemporary feel that everyone can identify with -and also encourage visitors from all over the Province.
Local retail businesses in Coleraine attended the launch event at Council’s Civic Headquarters in Cloonavin.
Councillor Harding said: “The Coleraine brand and logo is a simple and straightforward expression of what Coleraine has to offer as a place to live, work and visit.
“This is a very special and beautiful town with unlimited potential. I want our generation to show that by working together with common purpose we can transform Coleraine into an irresistible and prosperous destination”
“I am extremely pleased to be hosting this evening’s event, and I thank everyone for coming along and showing their support.
“In particular my thanks go to our local television personality, Sarah Travers, and guest motivational speaker, George Howie, Area Manager for Iceland, which has recently opened a new store in Coleraine.”
The Mayor explainedthe evolution of the brandand how important it is for Coleraine to have a unique identity that everyone can relate to.
Mayor Harding added: “I am determined to ensure Coleraine gets its fair share of investment within the Northern Ireland economy. Council recently secured additional funding to revitalise the Waterside area of Coleraine. New opportunities for promotion are being investigated as well as developing partnerships with outside agencies as we aim to expand what we already have in place. Seasonal events are an important part of life in Coleraine, with a full programme being developed.” for 2014
