The Christmas sale of roughly 500 lots this Thursday includes over 100 pieces of mainly Irish art says auctioneer Gerry McAfee, and offers a variety of traditional and contemporary pictures from artists past and present.
‘Modern art by artists like Graham Knuttell hang side by side with traditional and popular artists like Charles Mc Auley ,while modern watercolours by Carrie O Duinn and other more modern works hang aside more traditional watercolour artists like J W Carey and G W Morrison’, and not only is there a variety in style and medium but also in price range with works from £50 to £3500 available through the the sale. In addition to the Irish art there are also pieces from English and other artists including an exceptional work ‘Golded Retrievers’ by the renown J W Trickett.
In addition the sale includes lots of collectibles including two private collections of Royal Worcester,including many signed pieces,and a collection of Moorcroft along with pieces of Crystal, a collection of Doultons and Hummells, clocks including a superb art nouveau double fusee mantle clock,pieces of noritake, porcelain, Coalport etc. Pieces of fine furniture including many smaller pieces of furniture and furnishings are also in the sale as are a collection of spirits and two private collections of solid silver pieces including a collection of small Jewellery, ring,cigarette, snuff and other boxes and another of smaller silver collectibles. Viewing commences on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday, December 7 from 3pm-5pm and 7pm-8.30 and on Thursday 8th, the day of sale from 3.30pm.
