This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 10 at the Coleraine-based Bellemont Herd owned by Norman and Nancy McCollum and family, commencing at 11am.

Established in 1987 with foundation stock from the noted Ballycairn and Boghill herds, the Bellemont prefix currently comprises of 300 cows which are milked twice daily producing an average yield of 9,800kgs at 4.10% butterfat and 3.25% protein.

The herd has steadily increased in size in recent years, and successful cow families include Idaho, Phyl, Zadia, Avery and Froukje.

Visitors to the event will have an opportunity see the award-winning cows Bellemont Baxter Phyl EX93 SP, and Bellemont Amazing Anita VG89.

Master judge for the event is Tom Kelly from the noted Monamore herd based at Drogheda in County Louth.

Holstein NI chairman Gaston Wallace said: “It promises to be a great day out for all members of the family.”
