ASSEMBLY ELECTION: Bradley becomes an MLA

Coleraine DUP man Maurice Bradley said he was '˜overwhelmed' to have topped the poll in East Londonderry.

The former Mayor of Coleraine was the first candidate passed the finish line at the count in East Londonderry this evening (Friday).

Bradley polled 4,630 first preference votes.

Speaking to The Coleraine Times as a newly elected MLA, Bradley said his him main focus would be on ‘inward investment’ in the area.

“We need to get the enterprise zone up and going, and more inward investment to bring much needed jobs to the area. That is a top priority for me, he said.

“I am delighted with the result, and I want to thank everyone who voted, my election team and and all that supported me.

“The hard work starts now,” he said.
