Alliance councillor Yvonne Boyle has said she is relieved no-one was hurt after a stolen car crashed close to her home.
Councillor Boyle - who is currently Coleraine’s Deputy Mayor - was speaking after the car crashed into five others in the early hours ofFriday morning.
The driver was unharmed.
Councillor Boyle said: “This had the potential to be a very serious incident. “The driver of the stolen car crashed into five cars, which if it had been any other time of the day could have seriously injured other people in the area.
“This was a frightening experience for everyone in the area. It occurred close to my home and it was terrifying to be woken by such a loud crash.
“I must praise the PSNI who arrived at the scene quickly and I hope they are able to establish all the facts and bring the offending driver to justice.”
