'˜Fantastic' GCSE results at Coleraine Grammar

There were many delighted faces on Thursday 25 th August at Coleraine Grammar School when the year 12 pupils received their GCSE results.
90 pupils with at least 3 A*s or A grades.90 pupils with at least 3 A*s or A grades.

Ninety pupils achieved at least 3A*/A grades in their exams.

Eighteen pupils received all A*/A grades and sixty five pupils attained at least one A* grade.

Two of the most outstanding sets of results were our top achieving girl, Holly Woodhead’s 10 A* grades and top achieving boy Calum Beggs' 9 A*s and one A. Laura Strawbridge and Anna Wallace also both achieved 9 A*s and one A grade.  Courtney Campbell achieved 8 A*s and 2 A grades, as did Ross Moore. Other excellent performances were Ruth Carson, Chloe Dalzell, Rebekah Rea and James Richmond who all attained 7A*s and 3 As in their results.

Furthermore, Calum Beggs, Laura Strawbridge, Ruth Carson, Chloe Dalzell, Rebekah Rea, James Richmond and Courtney Campbell all achieved an A* in Short Course RE, while Anna Wallace achieved an A grade in Short Course RE.

This outstanding collection of grades is a testament to the pupils’ hard work and dedication across the two years of their GCSE studies and they should be commended for their excellent marks. The names mentioned are a small sample of the students who performed impressively in their exams.

Several subject areas achieved high numbers of A* and A grades. Some examples include 71 A* and A grades in Maths, 69 A*s and As in English, 63 A*s and As in ICT, 53 A*s and As in Biology, 45 A*s and As in Chemistry. Across the school as a whole there were 1356 A* - B grades.

Overall, the year 12 pupils performed very well and we wish them continued success in Coleraine Grammar School as they embark on their A Level studies. Many thanks to the teaching staff who have assisted our students in achieving their goals.
