The former Causeway Cycle Club member was staying at the Johnstown House Hotel and Spa in Enfield on Saturday when the theft took place a few hours before the National Road Race Championships in Kilcullen.

The bike, a limited edition Giant Propel, was snatched from the backseat of the car when thieves smashed a window to gain access before making off with it.

Christie had been given the bike from his former team Bissell-ABG and had added a few extras to bump up the price of it considerably. It came with Zipp 404 wheels and a Quarq power meter and was blue and black in colour.

The former Irish international is hoping someone saw something and will get it back.

Luckily Marcus borrowed a bike on the racing day and won a team gold medal with team mates, Mark Dowling and Bryan McCrystal.

There is a reward for any information which leads to its recovery of the bike, contact 086-8119966. Anyone with any information can also contact Enfield Garda station at 046 954 1002.
