paying tribute to the RNLI volunteers

Justice Minister Claire Sugden has commended the invaluable work of RNLI volunteers during a visit to Portrush Lifeboat Station.

She said: “ The men and women who volunteer to answer emergency calls in all weathers have helped save countless lives and I commend them for their dedication and commitment.

“The RNLI aims to reduce drowning by 50%, across the UK and Ireland by 2024. Given the dedication and enthusiasm I have seen demonstrated by the Portrush crew, I am confident that they will succeed.”

The station in Portrush has been operational since 1860.
