£15,000 worth of cocaine seized

POLICE from the Crime Team in Coleraine seized an estimated £15,000 worth of suspected cocaine following a search at a housing development in Coleraine last Tuesday.

The seizure followed a report of suspicious activity in the area of new houses at Loguestown Green off the Cloyfin Road at around 3.10pm.

A green area near the entrance to the development was searched and suspected cocaine with an estimated value of around £15,000 was seized.

Police condemned the person responsible for leaving the drugs in the vicinity of a nearby school.

Enquiries into the seizure are ongoing. Anyone who noticed a man in a blue coat behaving suspiciously in the area at around 3pm or shortly after is asked to contact police.

“Police in Coleraine are determined to work with the community against the use of illegal drugs and to bring those behind their sale to justice”, a PSNI spokesman said.
