Animals poisoned in Portrush say police

POLICE have launched an appeal for information following the confirmed poisoning of five animals found dead in Portrush earlier this month.

The bodies of a dog, two cats and two crows were found in the Glenmanus area and removed for examination.

A police spokesman told The Coleraine Times: “It is believed that after a veterinary examination, all of the animals were poisoned during the incident.”

A cat called Fitz, reported missing by its owner, turned up safe and well and did not appear to be poisoned, police added.

Anyone who has any information regarding this incident is asked to contact police in Portrush on 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
