Coleraine neighbourhood policing team ran a drugs operation over the weekend in the town and the Ports areas.

Sgt Robert Ennis explained: “Officers spent a large part of last weekend targeting suspected drugs dealers in a proactive operation.

“We had several successes in terms of arrests and drug seizures.

“For example, we seized an estimated £700 worth of cocaine and £100 worth of cannabis following a search in Portrush. We also seized £1190 in cash under the Proceeds of Crime Act during a search in Coleraine.

“We charged one man with possession of a class A drug with intent to supply and possession of class B drugs.

“Another man was charged with possession of a class B drug, specifically herbal cannabis.

“If you have concerns about drug misuse in your community, please call police on the non-emergency number 101. You can also provide information confidentially by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
