POPULAR art historian Deborah Logan is back at the lectern at Flowerfield Arts Centre this autumn – she is offering a series of four lively illustrated talks at the centre, as part of the September to December season.
She kicks things off with a lively overview on the question ‘What is Art?’ on the afternoon of Thursday, September 27 at 2.30pm.
She promises to discuss the power of the image and subliminal messages, and will set the scene for the lectures to follow.
Deborah is renowned for her deft approach to the subject – her public lectures are rigorously researched but laced with humour and are very popular with both serious students of art as well as those with a more relaxed approach.
She follows with a discussion on the Symbolist movement on Thursday, October 25, a discussion of the life and work of Gustav Klimt on Thursday, November 22, and rounding the season off with a look at Charles Dickens and his relationship with art – on Thursday, December 6 Admission is £5 for all talks, which is payable at the door.
