Diabetes UK Coleraine Voluntary Group meeting

The Diabetes UK Coleraine Voluntary Group is resuming after their Summer break with the first meeting on Monday, September 26 to help adults with diabetes in the area to meet others and learn more about living with the condition.

The meeting will take place at the Causeway Hospital 8.00pm and will hear from Dr. Michael Ryan, Consultant, who will update the Group about the latest developments in diabetes.

The Group have produced a programme for the year which details future meeting dates and topics which will include a talk on diabetes research and a quiz night.

Gill Lunn, Volunteer Development Officer, Diabetes UK Northern Ireland, said: “We would like to invite anyone with diabetes or relatives or carers to someone with diabetes to please come along to the Group.

“Everyone is extremely welcome and the meetings are a fantastic opportunity to ask questions that you maybe haven’t had time to ask in healthcare appointments, to find out how other people in the area manage their diabetes and to meet and socialise with others.”

Anyone interested in going along can turn up on the night or, for more information, call Gill or Heather on 028 9066 6646.
