A large group of Causeway Coast Peace Group members travelled by train on the scenic coastal route to Derry/Londonderry recently on an educational trip.

Following a short walk by the River Foyle, the group arrived at St Columb’s Park House, an 18th Century Manor House situated in parkland on Waterside of Derry/Londonderry, established in 1994 as a centre for reconciliation.

Following refreshments, the group were welcomed to the City by the Most Rev. Donal McKeown, Bishop of Derry, following. After this the group listened to Facilatator Derek Moore, who explained how the document The Maiden City Accord had come about.

Following an excellent meal at St Columb’s Park House the Group walked across the Peace Bridge to The Guildhall, and for the next hour were enthralled by the most delightful and knowledgable guide Gerry.

Later in the evening some members of the Peace Group attended a wonderful event, celebrating 50 years of the Corrymeela Community, in St Patrick’s Church Coleraine, with Cappella Caeciliana in Concert, one of Northern Ireland’s leading choirs.
