THERE’S a great line up at this year’s Red Sails Festival in Portstewart.
The festival will run from Sunday, July 22 to Saturday, July 28.
One of the highlights of the festival is set to be Fil Campbell. Fil and her band will be on the open air stage on Tuesday, July 24th from 7pm.
Fil is a well known singer. She’s a regular performer on the European and American folk circuit and she’s thrilled to be brining her show ‘ Just A Song At Twlight’ to Portstewart.
Together with percussionist Tom McFarland and Sligo mandolin player Brendan Emmett, Fil will be singing a collection of songs that will have you singing along from the first note.
With her beautiful voice she breathes new life into songs that were originally recorded by women singers like Delia Murphy and Bridie Gallagher - like The Homes of Donegal, The Connemara Cradle Song, I Know My Love, My Singing Bird, and Love’s Old Sweet Song to name but a few.
These were the songs that generations of Irish people grew up with and Fil is true to the original style of the songs.
