IF you love the detective-story genre and enjoy true-life historical crime stories, then don’t miss this Thursday as “Jack The Ripper – A Twenty First Century Investigation” comes to the Riverside Theatre.

Trevor Marriott is a retired British police murder squad detective, and leading Ripper expert, who since 2002 has been conducting a cold case investigation into The Whitechapel Murders of 1888 which were attributed to a fearsome killer who came to be known as Jack the Ripper.

For the past 125 years this mystery has captivated the imagination of people worldwide and still does today. He has now concluded his long and protracted cold case investigation with startling results which now have completely dispelled many of the original theories which have been readily accepted as being fact for 125 years.

His ongoing investigation would disprove the accepted theory that the killer after killing some of the victims removed vital organs from their bodies at the crime scenes taking them away with him.

Further investigative work would uncover secret Metropolitan Police Special Branch records never before made public in which four new suspects are named and the contents of which now eliminate a number of the “prime suspects” who have been continuously investigated over the ensuing years.

Then, on Friday it’s a night of comedy in Riverside with an instantly-recognizable face from television.

From young to old everyone has seen Father Ted, and tonight we bring you comedian Michael Redmond, best known for playing the unresponsive Father Stone. He has a deadpan style of delivery and has been described as the “possessor of comedy’s most mournful moustache”. MC for the evening is comedy veteran and star of the BBC’s The Empire Laughs Back Justin McNally.

Also joining us on the night is club founder of the Braid Comedy Club Paddy McCaughey and Cookstown Sizzling Comedy Club founder Alan Burns, and Jason O’Neill will also make an appearance in what is sure to be a night of fun.

And completing the week on Saturday, October 19 is a band which needs no introduction as rock band Clearwater Revived has its third theatre gig and triumphant return

The band’s previous appearances in the theatre have been sell-outs, so prompt booking is advised!
