Inaugural Rotary Technology Tournament in Coleraine

There was great buzz of excitement when the Rotary Club of Coleraine recently hosted the inaugural Rotary Technology Tournament at Loreto College in the town.

The event saw 12 teams of four from Loreto College, North Coast Integrated College and Coleraine Grammar School gather to test their technological and problem solving skills. All the teams showed real ingenuity and skill in designing and producing their models, with all the students immediately engaged in the challenge and totally absorbed for the whole day.

The winning teams, each winning a cash prize donated by the Rotary Club of Coleraine, were all from Coleraine Grammar.

The Mayor, Maura Hickey, Rotary Ireland assistant district governor William Cross and Sue MacLaughlin, President of the Rotary Club of Coleraine, attended the event.

The tournament was a great success, with the support of so many club members and the schools involved, and will be a much anticipated for next year.
