Police can confirm that the young woman who died as a result of a road traffic collision on the Creamery Road in Coleraine on Wednesday morning was 17-year-old Emma Scott, from the Aghadowey area.

The incident involved a silver Audi A4 and a red Mini shortly after 11am.

Emma Scott wasdriving the Mini and was fatally injured in the incident.

One male and a female were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to injuries that are not thought to be life threatening. Both were travelling in the Audi A4.

Inspector Alison Ferguson said: “We continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Creamery Road around the time of the collision to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station or local Police at Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.”
