Three local Irish dancers took part in the Belfast Tattoo at the SSE Arena in Belfast last week.

Two of the girls are part of the Innova Dance group, based in Portstewart, the other dances with the Ashley Gault School of Dancing in Coleraine.

Innova dancers, Ellis Harte (11), a pupil of Coleraine Grammar School and Lucy Allen (11), a pupil at Roe Valley Integrated Primary School performed jigs and reels at the showcase.

Senior dancer, seventeen year old Hollie Hunt, a member of the Ashley Gault School of Dancing in Coleraine, took part in the heavy shoe section.

Lucy’s proud mum Wendy told The Times: “The girls saw a post online in search of dancers for the Tattoo. Both Ellis and Lucy sent away audition tapes. “They then got a call to say that they had been selected.

“It was a great experience for them dancing in front of a full house on all three nights.

“A number of friends and relations made the trip to the Odyessy to see them peform, it’s something that they will not forget for a long time.”
