KILREA Women’s Institute president, Elizabeth Patterson welcomed special guest Rachel Cochrane, from British Forces Broadcasting Services to the

February meeting.

Rachel enthralled the audience with photos and anecdotes from Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, where she provides radio entertainment for troops

and their families.

Meanwhile, Mabel Campbell and Pearl Walker are new grannies. Heather Kelso was the Birthday Girl. Entertainment was won by Alison Torrens,

and Margaret Lyle won the competition for ‘A card from home’.

The evening concluded with a delicious supper and ‘A Countrywoman’s Song’.
