Coleraine man to contest drugs charges

THE case of a Coleraine man charged with a string of drug offences has been sent for trial.

Christopher Robert Neill Cupples (27) of Gransden Court in Coleraine faces 11 charges of possessing a Class ‘B’ drug and possessing a class ‘B’ drug with intent to supply. He is also charged with being involved in the supply of a class ‘B’ drug.

The charges relate to a planned drugs operation by the PSNI's Crime Team North in the Coleraine area last September.

A Preliminary Enquiry was held on Friday to determine whether the case was suitable for trial.

District Judge, Richard Wilson, released Cupples on his own bail to appear before Antrim Crown Court on April 16 for trial.
