Coleraine trio sign for Roesiders

FORMER Coleraine players Davy Patton, Ryan McLaughlin and Trevor Hutchinson have made the short trip over the mountain to sign for Limavady United.

The trio, who were released by the Bannsiders at the end of last season, put pen to paper for the Championship club towards the end of last week.

And new boss Oran Kearney was delighted to snap them up along with another former Coleraine man, Peter Spratt from Glebe Rangers and John O'Loughlin from Institute.

"I think all five players will bring something different to the squad and without doubt that will be a good thing," said Kearney.

He added: "We have strengthened at both ends of the field as well as in midfield and that can only be a good thing.

"Spratt has signed from Glebe and he can play anywhere across the back four. He's a cultured defender and swept the board at their players awards.

"John (O'Loughlin) has moved from Stute and I played with him earlier in my career so I know all about him.

"He's an excellent professional, has a load of experience and is generally a great box to box midfielder.

"Davy Patton has been with Limavady before and I've played against him many times and I know how strong he is up front.

"Ryan McLaughlin is an excellent central defender who like Spratt is well organised, is a good talker and leads the back-line well.

"Trevor Hutchinson is the third player to move from Coleraine and he is another striker but more of a fox in the box type.

"He started well at Coleraine but then had a bad injury before going on loan to Tobermore last season were he scored nine goals so I know he can score goals."
