Council shortlisted for two Local Government Awards
COLERAINE Borough Council has been shortlisted for two awards in this year’s Local Government Awards.
Council is in the running for the Best Sustainable Development Initiative accolade for its Portrush and Portstewart Environmental Improvement Programme.
Derry City and Newry and Mourne Councils have also been shortlisted in the category.
Coleraine Council is also one of three Councils vying for the Best Joint Initiative award.
Council’s entry is for the joint Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership and Ballysally Integrated Nurturing Programme.
Belfast City Council and Magherafelt Council are also shortlisted for this award.
This year there have been 49 entries for the seven award categories.
The winners will be announced at the the gala dinner of the NILGA annual conference in the Everglades Hotel, Londonderry, on February 28.
Portstewart woman Sarah Travers will compere the event.
