Disappointing display by Colts

COLERAINE Colts crashed out of the Harry Cavan Youth Cup last Wednesday night.

The Showgrounds youngsters met Dungannon Swifts Youths in the semi final of the prestigious competition at Moyola's state of the art 4G pitch.

Dungannon dominated the early play and found the woodwork twice before opening the scoring after 38 minutes.

Coleraine keeper Conor Dunlop pulled off a string of good saves in the first half to keep his side in the tie.

Garrett Quinn was forced off the field with a pulled hamstring on the half hour, he was replaced by Scott Hamilton.

Before the end of the half Coleraine had a good chance to level matters. Ryan Doherty pumped a corner into the box but Vinny Heneghan's effort went wide.

Dungannon pelted the Coleraine defence from the start of the second half.

They grabbed four more goals without reply to win the game 5-0.

Dungannon will now meet Linfield Rangers in the final.
