Funding boost for Millburn and Ballysally
THE communities of Millburn and Ballysally have been handed a major boost with the news that nearly £300,000 of funding has been secured for projects in their areas.
Coleraine Borough Council officers last week revealed that a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) in Millburn and a Play Park in Ballysally had both been given the go ahead from the Departament of Social Development.
The projects involve: The construction of a multi-functional recreational area within the Millburn Community Centre site.
The overall costs are estimated at £128,024 and £108,024 has been secured from DSD. The associated running costs and the remaining £20,000 were agreed by Council in June.
The provision of a top class play facility for the children of Ballysally is estimated to cost £206,304 and £181,304 has been secured from DSD. Council agreed in June to the match funding of £25,000 and to cover maintenance and running costs.
