LADIES: Coleraine hit five past Larne

COLERAINE Ladies picked up a valuable three points, as they entertained Larne Ladies last Tuesday night.

The Coleraine girls are now sitting fifth in the Davidsons Frudles Championship.

Goals from Lesley Ann Dunn, Lauren Wade (2), Katelyn McKane and Emma Murphy secured the 5-3 win, against a competitive Larne side.

And, player/manager, Alison Nicholl, who was forced to watch from the sidelines, was proud of her team's display.

She singled out keeper Alice Harkness for prase: "Alice made a number of good saves in the game.

"She was superb, making three double saves to keep us in game. Two of the Larne goals were defensive mix ups, when no one came to help Alice clear the ball, but this is something we need to work on."

Alison went on: "Going forward we definitely looked dangerous.

"Lauren Wade's pace is frightening, and she scored another two, taking her league tally up to six.

The player/manager also paid tribute to new signing Lesley Ann Dunn, who worked hard in midfield: "She is a great asset to the team, she has a bit of physical presence and that always helps."

Coleraine's next league game is at home to Donegal Celtic, on Thursday, July 1.

This will be a tough test for the Ladies, as Donegal Celtic are sittting just above them in the league.
